I have been so fortunate to be a part of some wonderful projects lately, all of which have been centered around empowering others to be confident. These opportunities could not have come at a better time, I tell you. Here’s a little of what I’ve been up to lately:
The Mighty Mighty Kaleidoscope Society
One of the things I love about being an advocate for mental health is that I get to encourage those just starting on their path to mental wholeness. Transparency has been a great factor in helping me as I maintain my mental health and it also allows others to feel more comfortable in their journey. There’s solidarity in that, even for those that aren’t as public as I have been about my challenges. Last month I wrote another article for Kaleidoscope Society, a website for and by women with ADHD, about rebuilding your confidence after your diagnosis. As someone who was diagnosed pretty late in life, there’s a lot of self-image rebuilding that has to be done due to so many years of self-doubt. But it’s possible to build your confidence to live life stronger than ever before.

The BET Awards and Pantene Honor Activist Brittany Packnett
The BET Awards and Pantene joined up to honor activist Brittany Packnett for her courage in the fight for social justice. This message could not have been more timely. I know with so much going on in the world right now, it may seem like you don’t even know where to begin to try and make it a better place. And even if you did, you may be wondering if it would even make an impact. Well, you can and you will if you remember to step out and shine strong as Brittany reminds us in this commercial. That’s me smiling at you at the very end reminding you that you can get out there and shine strong too.
#ColorFearlessly with Clairol
Clairol? Never in a hundred years would I have ever guessed that I’d be in a beauty campaign for Clairol! If I had to choose one to be a part of, this would’ve definitely been it. Clairol recently introduced a new and improved Nice ‘n Easy at home coloring system not just so women would feel more confident in coloring their hair at home (it truly is the easiest coloring system ever), but so they could feel more confident stepping out into the world.
Please watch this fantastic short film about why you should #ColorFearlessly with Clairol and check out your girl at 1:04.
